What is the impact of COVID-19 on your industry in terms of jobs and employee engagement?

Aussizz group is one of the fastest growing companies which has diverse portfolio- IT, Education, migration and travel. The Covid-19 pandemic had adversely affected the economy and workplace globally, including India. With the lockdown imposed across board until last few months, most of the economic activities had come to a standstill. The Education and migration business as well witnessed low numbers of registration in quarter-1 of 2020 but we are recovering now in Quarter 2 post beginning of series of unlock in various sectors.

The company wisely managed the workforce. The top priority was remote working with huge focus on health and well-being of our employees. The employee engagement is an integral part of Aussizz culture. The company held various virtual quarantine award ceremony, Periodic e-town halls and institutionalized various programs to boost employee mental and emotional capability. The output was evident, our employees personally took ownership of their work and there was no impact on their productivity and quality of work.

How do you see the job landscape two years from now? Which jobs will be in demand, and which ones you think can become redundant or transform?

The Fourth Industrial Revolution is changing the work landscape across all industries, globally. The jobs that will continue to be in demand include engineering, science, technology, and those in education or workforce training. Technology is moving at an incredibly fast pace, with every aspect of our lives now linked essentially to microchips in one way or another. In light of this, it might be having a negative effect on many traditional careers which are increasingly becoming automated. The job of travel agent, cashier, bank teller, roles in office support and production will potentially be redundant in next few years’ time.

What should be the top criteria for businesses to manage employee performance and productivity amid crisis

Effective employee performance management should create shared understanding of what has to be achieved and what individuals or teams have to do, learn, and develop to be successful. At Aussizz, we use 4-Dimensional performance framework and clearly establish the performance evaluations criteria well in advance. Our company also conducted annual appraisals as scheduled with decent hikes even during this pandemic.

What technology trends do you see emerging concerning the future of work?

Technology is now changing at a very fast pace. As technology evolves, it enables even faster change and progress.

These technologies offer encouraging career potential now and for the foreseeable future.
