Location: Remote any location - Melbourne preferred, secondary preferred location Brisbane
Job Role & Responsibility:
The primary focus of this role will be to support IT Infrastructure environments delivering Citrix Application and Desktop services as well as Windows Server Administration. Service design and integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture. Provides problem resolution and technical support for delivery systems. Provides support for the design, validation and configuration management of computing delivery systems. Administers user system access and works to protect information to meet security requirements. Maintains key relationships with all stake holders in IT and the business by providing face to face collaboration. Monitors system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning. Maintain, support and assist planning in future direction with hyperconverged technology.
We are looking for a cross functional Team Player to join the IaaS Team to support the Managed Services to one of our top customers. The candidate needs to be an Australian Citizen with ability to obtain Security Clearances such as Baseline and NV1/2. Baseline Mandatory.
- Citrix Administration (Application / Desktop)

Server Administration Duties
- Citrix farm support / maintenance
- Server hardware install and configuration
- Firmware and driver updates to approved revisions
- Multi-path software installations and configuration.
- Volume management.
- File system and volume layouts.
- Scripting (BCV, Clone, Snapshot management).
- Data migration.
- Data replication between sites.
- Configuration Management.
- IT Compliance
System Administration Duties
- Citrix environment support / maintenance
- Load applications on server.
- Register the client at Web site.
- Monitor backup success/failure.
- Contact Support to resolve issues.
- Third Level support for client issues.
- Escalate issues to higher level support.
- Server availability and performance monitoring, incident and problem mgmt.
- Server access management and Access Control Policy (ACP).
- Maintenance of OS & firmware (patching and compliance)
- Deployment of application changes.
- Automated discovery and report monitoring.
- Application backup monitoring and issue resolution.
Skills:
- At least 2 years’ experience as a Citrix System Admin
- At least 5 years’ experience as a Windows System Admin
Needs to be an expert in the following Systems/Tools/Applications:
- Windows Server
- Citrix XepApp / XenDesktop
- VMware
- Active Directory
- General Server concepts (DNS, DHCP, Group Policy)
Needs to have knowledge and experience to be able to work with:
- VMware
- vCenter
- vCloud
- vSphere
- Monitoring tools
- Service Now
- Network (LAN) exposure
- HCI / Automation experience
Required:
- XenApp 6.0 and 7.0 Published Desktops and Applications
- XenApp Farm upgrades and migrations
- Microsoft Windows Server / AD administration, 2008 to 2019
- Group policy admin and maintenance
- VMWare experience
- Organization and management of the business applications.
- Providing technical assistance for servers, and services utilizing Citrix.
- Executing service requests and classifying cases according to their priorities and accelerations.
- Citrix Certifications – XenApp, XenDesktop highly regarded
Desirable:
- VDI Exposure and configuration
- Application / Server migration
- Design and implement platform security based on best practices
- Virtualization and exposure with VxRail
- ITIL v3 / v4 certification
