Job Description
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensure test process is in line with agreed Test Strategy
- Take active role in test team, covering multiple areas of functionality
- Perform requirement and test basis review
- Prepare test scenarios and test cases (both automated and manual) ensuring enough detail is included to prove during test execution that the designed solution meets the requirements
- Take active role in peer review of test scenarios and test cases of test team and ensure quality of test cases is to high standards
- Identify test data needs for project testing
- Execute tests as specified, analyse and record accurate results
- Ensure defect process is correctly followed
- Support ODC test manager/lead to publish metrics for incorporation in weekly/ milestone status reports
- Suggest improvements in test process
- Take ownership of testing quality
This is a key role in the Quality Assurance Testing team within IS, with responsibility for ensuring that various stages and types of testing are performed to required standards. This is done to ensure that errors are discovered as early as possible and therefore discovered in the most cost-effective manner.
The role covers delivery testing and testing support on both new in house and 3rd party products and upgrades to existing systems when required.
