Job Purpose :

SNOC is centralized Network Operation center responsible for FCAPS for VIL PAN India network across all technologies and domains through highly skilled People, well stitched Processes & state of the art Tools.

Messaging a sub-domain VAS in Telecom business is a critical platform to provide messaging service to customers. It requires skillful and seasoned professionals with lot of Process Compliances to ensure

Maximizing Messaging domain ( SMSC, MMSC, WAPGw, etc., ) Service and its availability
Enhancing customer experience with seamless experience, Speed and Digitalization.

To achieve the objective, Team Lead Messaging needs to discharge pivotal responsibilities of:

As SME (Subject Matter Expert) – Messaging responsible for managing service of SMS, MMS, WAPGw, etc., to customers. Undertake service restoration of major and Critical incidents in Messaging domain , drive the process to ensure that service is restored as quickly as possible, minimising the adverse impact on business operations, and ensuring that the best possible levels of service quality and availability are maintained.
Responsible for assessing situations, making appropriate interventions, directing and facilitating resolution activity. Ensuring appropriate escalation, resolution teams and service management at their discretion during an incident.
Changes in messaging domain as per business requirement of enabling features like Anti Spamming (Regulatory mandate ), MMSC, WAPGw, etc., Work closely with the OEM support teams, Other SNOC sub functions like Problem Management, Change Management and Service management team to actively contribute to relevant parts of the Incident Management process.
Ensure highest availability of Messaging nodes like SMSC, MMSC, WAPGw, USSD, Balance Enquiry, Enterprise SMSC, etc network with hassle-free operations.
Overall responsible for overall Messaging operation of PAN India VIL network

Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience :

  • Minimum 8 – 10 years of working experience in Telecomm Industry with experience in NOC and should have minimum 4 years excellent knowledge of Messaging products like SMSC, MMSC, WAPGw from Vendors like Comviva, TeleDNA, etc.,
  • Should have strong knowledge on Messaging products
  • Operation Management: ITIL frame work Understanding for Incident Management Operation, SLA Governance. Effective Problem Management & Continual Service Improvement
  • Stakeholder Management: Conflict Management, Cross domain interaction for requirement gathering, issue closure.
  • Know How knowledge of latest technology trends like Virtualization, Spam detection, Steering platforms, etc,.
  • Excellent troubleshooting & trace analysis skills of Inter-domain (RAN-CS Core, STP-CS Core, MME-CS Core, HLR-CS Core etc.)
  • Good vendor partner management & negotiation skills
  • Experienced in Management & defining operational KPI’s, TAT etc.
  • Excellent analytical skills – work experience on Improving Service Availability, MTTR etc.
  • Able to handle multiple activities at same time with the coordination of different teams.
  • Should have good exposure in incident, fault, Configuration & team management.
  • Strong interpersonal & verbal communications with good written skills.
  • Calm under pressure, Conscientious with a strong sense of pride and accountability, Good problem solving techniques and Customer focused

  • Able to take responsibility and motivate team members in difficult or stressful situations
