The engineering activities include: Analysis of requirements, Design, Code implementation, Basic test, Documentation, Test and 3rd Line Support activities.

In addition, there could be other specific tasks that are agreed with the R&D Manager.

Responsibilities

The Senior Software Engineer has responsibilities not only towards the team he/she works in, but also to the company, co-workers and to himself/herself. In those contexts, the following list will be applicable to each and all of the Senior Software Engineer within the organization.

The Senior Software Engineer shall in his/her professional role:

- Be personally responsible that the own produced software follows applicable rules and guidelines that are stated for the organization and actively counteract deviations from these, both own and others deviations.

- Be personally responsible for that the quality of the own produced software are as high as possible within project constraints.

- Actively search advice from co-workers when being uncertain of technical solutions.

- Actively share knowledge with co-workers.

- Be flexible and seek knowledge in competence areas outside own main focus.

- Be responsible to develop own knowledge of current working environment.

- Actively work to propose improvements.

- Aim at finding the root cause to erroneous behaviour in the software, and as far as possible remove the root cause (not the symptom).

- Be enough broad-minded to always consider reuse of already implemented software in our products.

Authorities

A Senior Software Engineer has the authority and responsibility for decisions regarding programming and design issues within a product/component area.

General Key Skills, Competencies and Experience required    

- Excellent knowledge in software design.

- Excellent knowledge in the programming languages used at the unit, including C# (70%) and C++ (30%).

- Excellent knowledge of the software development tools used at the unit including Azure DevOps, TFS, Git.  

- Good knowledge of the Development Process defined for the organization (Scrum).

- Good domain knowledge on radio telecommunications protocols and chipsets for 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, IoT, and etc.  

- Very good knowledge of applicable technologies.

- Keep current with software industry trends
