What you will do:

• Responsible for the implementation of high-quality grade code for Astro Products 
• Demonstrate your passion for Software development by promoting good development practices within your work, including any associated disciplines and functional areas, such as unit testing 
• Ensure that software is built to the highest standard, is built in a way that favours a simple and maintainable approach over a clever and complex one, is tested at every step on the path to Systems Integration Testing (SIT) using the appropriate tools and practices and is suitably instrumented to meet core operational and business monitoring needs
• Work closely with development support and cross-functional teams to ensure that designs are practical, workable and deliverable
• Work with other members of your peer group to ensure that software delivered is built in a way that is technically consistent with practices in place within the department
• Responsible for level 2 & level 1 Support.
• Able to support at odd times (if required)
• Adhere to the latest software development guidelines incl. code updates to Git
• Estimation efforts
• Able to manage day-to-day development support challenges and build quick solutions.
• Design and build scalable backend services 

Who you are:

• Degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering/Communication Engineering, Computer Science or any other related field of studies.
• 5+ years of hands on experience in software development, including design, implementation, debugging, and support, building distributed, scalable system software and/or Services preferably in the cloud
• Strong knowledge of Java/Python/Node.js development
• Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational databases such as MySQL, MongoDB or Redis 
• Familiar with JavaScript front-end frameworks such as JQuery, React.js or Angular.js
• Familiar with JavaScript back-end frameworks such as Express.js, Socket.io or Restify.js
• Experienced with micro-services based software architecture and containerization using Docker, Kubernetes etc
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations
• Experience developing within Cloud Infrastructure especially AWS
• Strong experience with the UNIX-like environment
• Agile Software Development practices (e.g. Scrum, CI/CD, Slack, etc.)
