Responsibilities:

Seeking Senior Database Administrator with good technical knowledge in MariaDB/MySQL Server for implementation, configuration, maintenance and performance tuning of SQL Server RDMS system. Main goal is to ensure high availability and consistent performance of various Bank’s applications

Responsibilities include ongoing support and administration of MariaDB/MySQL database, providing technical assistance and consulting to end-users and application developers, developing and maintaining tools for managing the server infrastructure and troubleshooting high-profile performance issues utilizing root-cause analysis and implement appropriate plan for problem resolution.

• The candidate must be able to work under minimal supervision while working as a member of the support team in providing timely and efficient support to assigned operations.
• Coordinate day-to-day operations and maintenance of a critical web base applications
• Collaborate in assessing current and expected application needs, configuration, maintenance, optimization and documentation.
• Follow and apply configuration and security standards and policies within a defined Change Management process.
• Assist with implementing DB solutions for applications; Implement common preventive maintenance practices for MariaDB/MySQL database and ensure that system improvements and changes are implemented correctly and completely, and monitor all effects of the modifications.
• Apply version upgrade / patches to ensure system is up to date
• Perform SQL tuning to ensure high DB performance
• Monitor system health and performance
• Provide 24x7 support

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Proficiency in MariaDB/MySQL database managment
• Backup, restore and Point in Time recovery using MariaBackup and mysqldump tools
• Experience setting up Master-Slave replication, Multi-Master replication, High Availability and disaster recovery in production environment
• Experience on Maxscale HA proxy implementation
• Hands On Experience with MariaDB/MySQL database and query performance tuning
• Knowledge of limitations in MariaDB/MySQL and their workarounds compared to other relational databases (Oracle and MS SQL server)
• Familiarity with other SQL / NoSQL database such as MongDB, MS SQL server and etc.
• Design and implementation of MongoDB-based solutions and / or Mongo data replication, backup and recovery, general administration
• Knowledge in SQL performance tuning.
• Good knowledge in Unix command
• Able to work extended hours
• Preferably with minimum of 5 years experience
• Good analytic skills, troubleshooting and problem identification
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
