Job Description

Fieldglass Role: Senior Analyst, IT Architecture - Australia

 

Location:  Brisbane

Security Clearance Required: NV1 Preferred, Baseline Mandatory

 

Job Role & Responsibility:

The primary focus of this role will be to support IT Infrastructure environments delivering Linux system support and administration.  Service design and integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture. Provides problem resolution and technical support for delivery systems. Provides support for the design, validation and configuration management of computing delivery systems. Administers user system access and works to protect information to meet security requirements. Maintains key relationships with all stake holders in IT and the business by providing face to face collaboration. Monitors system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning. Maintain, support and assist planning in future direction with hyperconverged technology.

 

We are looking for a cross functional Team Player to join the Team to support the Managed Services to one of our top customers.  The candidate needs to be an Australian Citizen with ability to obtain Security Clearances such as Baseline and NV1/2.

  • Working in a very complicated Networking environment

 

Server Administration Duties

  1. Server hardware install and configuration
  2. Firmware and driver updates to approved revisions
  3. Multi-path software installations and configuration.
  4. Volume management (excluding NAS).
  5. File system and volume layouts.
  6. Scripting (BCV, Clone, Snapshot management).
  7. Data migration.
  8. Data replication between sites.
  9. Configuration Management.

 

System Administration Duties

  1. Load applications on server.
  2. Register the client at Web site.
  3. Monitor backup success/failure.
  4. Contact Support to resolve issues.
  5. First Level support for client issues.
  6. Escalate issues to higher level support.
  7. Server availability and performance monitoring, incident and problem mgmt.
  8. Server access management and Access Control Policy (ACP).
  9. Maintenance of OS & firmware.
  10. Deployment of application changes.
  11. Automated discovery and report monitoring.
  12. Application backup monitoring and issue resolution.

 

Skills:

  • A minimum of 3 - 5 years systems administration, design and supporting complex corporate Unix/Linux infrastructure systems environments
  • Formal (or progression towards) qualifications in Information Science, Information Technology or equivalent work experience

Needs to be an expert in the following Systems/Tools/Applications:

  • Linux
