DevOps - JOB Description:

 Responsibilities

 

• Design and implement containerized platforms using orchestration tools such as Kubernetes. Manage the operations, maintenance, and upgrade of the containerized platform in various public and private cloud environments such as AWS, Azure and GCP.
• Automation of platform installation and upgrades using tools such as TerraForm and Ansible.
• Design and implementation of the infrastructure components such as databases, message queues, third party tools such as load balancers.
• Patching and upgrading the various platform components such as Linux base operating system, container images, Kubernetes cluster, third party databases like Postgres and Cassandra, and message queues such as Kafka.
• CI/CD pipelines implementation for Build, test and Deploy using tools such as GitLab and Jenkins.
• Understanding of website hosting and DNS management.
• Implementation of effective monitoring via log collection and analysis, Alarms generation and authoring monitoring scripts using linux shell programming or python etc.
• Perform Security Gap analysis, run Security Scanning Tests fix platform gaps to meet the security requirements of the application and platform.
• Support Development teams with required support during development and deployment phases by troubleshooting issues with respect infrastructure components and monitoring.
• Research, assess and adopt new technologies as required to improve overall service offering.

 

Skills 

• 5+ years of experience as cloud DevOps engineer across containers, Kubernetes, Gitlab/Jenkins.
• Experience with administering databases such as Postgres for tuning, administration and backup and restoration tasks.
• Experience Working with open source No SQL databases such as Cassandra. Ability to monitor along with administration and troubleshooting of large clusters. Working with other clustered open-source tools such as Apache NIfi and Kafka and Zookeeper.
• Experience working with AWS, GCP or other Cloud infra.
• Knowledge of Linux Operating system administration. Understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts, firewalls, VPNs, Load balancers etc. and configuration and troubleshooting of these appliances.
• Python, shell scripting for authoring scripts for automation and monitoring.
• Knowledge of logging systems implementation such as ELK and monitoring system such Prometheus with Grafana for monitoring, data collection and alarms management. 
• Understanding of security concepts and implementation of secure applications. Performing Security scanning of applications and infrastructure and fix vulnerabilities in the infra components.
• Website Hosting and DNS Management capabilities.
• Ability and passion to quickly learn and implement new technologies as required.
